Pacific Halibut. And some of the largest and finest come from Homer, Alaska. (Homer is located on the southern tip of the Kenai Peninsula). Pacific or Alaskan Halibut is a fine food fish. A tip: like salmon, they are seasonal. While the fish can be caught year-round, most are caught from June to late September, which coincides with the salmon run (halibut feed off of the spent salmon that drift back into the sea.) Fresh is best. They’re also great to catch!
