Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 39 ($130)
In the video linked below, I share all the shoe details and my initial run impressions.
The 39th edition sees big changes from the last two editions
- 18g / 0.67 oz drop in weight from the Pegasus 38 in my US8.5 sample to 9 oz / 255 g,
- a much lighter, less plush engineered mesh upper with Flywire cords instead of fat webbing straps,
- a new outsole design
- new rear air unit and I feel maybe softer React to go with previous front unit for a more cushioned ride and more rebound,
- a snappier more agile, more flexible if thinner feeling forefoot with a less prominent front air unit.
Bottom line: A more traditional, flexible, higher drop daily trainer with updated materials. Big contrast to previous two Pegasus editions and to Tempo Next % and Invincible Run and actually closer to Streakfly in run feel, if heavier.
