Outdoor Retailer returned to Salt Lake City after a “detour” to Denver. The winter Snow Show was not heavily attended for several reasons including a boycott by many prominent brands including Patagonia, Black Diamond, and dozens of others over Utah’s policies towards the environment and extractive industries even while outdoor recreation is a huge, huge driver of the Utah economy.
As I have a place in nearby Park City, I went to the Salt Palace Convention Center for a day. Not much running and a much smaller show than in the past so I was able to wander and discover neat products and not all related to running that is for sure. It was quite unlike the usual wall to wall appointments I usually have. Below some of my neat discoveries in video format as presented by the brands.
